Seeking a Handyperson
We are looking for a reliable handyperson to work, on average, four hours per week to keep the church site a welcoming and safe space.
The role will involve:
Carrying out routine maintenance work and minor repair works
Clearing rubbish around the site and sweeping the forecourt weekly
Watering plants if necessary and keeping plants cut back tidily
Highlighting current or potential issues with the building
Occasional larger projects e.g. putting up shelves, painting and decorating.
The successful candidate will be:
1. Reliable and hard working – have experience of seeing a job through from start to finish
2. Skilled in routine maintenance work
3. Able to lift and carry heavy items
4. Adept in carpentry and/or joinery skills
5. Knowledgeable about health and safety issues and fire regulations.
It would be desirable if the candidate has experience of being a handyperson or caretaker for a church or other public building.
The role is self-employed and the four hours per week can be worked flexibly.
Remuneration is £20 per hour, to be invoiced on a weekly or monthly basis.
