On the death of Her Majesty, the Queen

We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, a faithful servant of Christ and of the people she governed.  We give thanks to God for her life and example, and pray for her as she passes into eternity, in sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We will have the doors of the church open on Friday 9 September from 10am to 12 noon if anyone would like to come and say a prayer or light a candle. Bells will toll at noon. We will, of course, have a time of silence and prayers of thanksgiving for her life at our service at 10.30am on Sunday 11 September.

A condolence book can be signed at St Mary Islington, which is open 9am until 10pm, or at the Town Hall. Contributions to the online condolence book can also be made here: https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-her-majesty-queen#prayer

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
