Poetry Workshops

On Monday 13 May, we have the delight of two poetry workshops, led by Dr Mary Ann Lund, Associate Professor in Renaissance English Literature at the University of Leicester.

At lunchtime, 12.30-2pm, we’ll begin with an informal lunch and then have a chance to engage in guided discussion around the works of poets such as R.S. Thomas, George Herbert and Elizabeth Jennings, particularly exploring the theme of prayer in poetry.

In the evening, 7.30-9pm, over a glass of wine, there’ll be a more reflective opportunity to engage with the same poets, together with the work of John Donne, with a chance to meditate on our own as well as share together.

The workshops are free and no expertise is expected. Everyone is warmly welcome to come and participate as much or as little as they like.
